Carmelo Anthony has informed the New York Knicks that he will be testing the Free Agent Market. LeBron James has also informed the Miami Heat that he intends to forego the final two years of his contract and test free agency.
Since the season has ended, multiple teams have vied for the services of either former league MVP, LeBron James or former scoring champion, Carmelo Anthony. Now according to sources, a few teams are vying to combine the two superstars to form a formidable tandem.
The Miami Heat have expressed interest in retaining James and adding Carmelo Anthony, yet they do want to keep their core together. The Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers are also looking to acquire the services of the superstars, by freeing up cap room through the trade market. The Los Angeles Lakers have extended overtures towards both superstars, though neither player has shown much interest in playing in the Western Conference.
