Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead Trailer is Nazi Zombie Mayhem

Dead Snow was a reasonably entertaining little horror comedy. Nazis. Zombies. Nazi Zombies. Not much more you need to know.

But director Tommy Wirkola has returned with Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead, which takes the reasonable nuttiness of Dead Snow (again, Nazi Zombies) and amps it up to dangerously unstable levels of crazy.

Here’s the gist of Red vs Dead. We’ve got Martin, our hero from the first film (and the guy in that spiffy green tracksuit, seen above), who managed to survive the original Dead Snow, but only after chainsawing his own arm off. Long story.

The sequel opens with Martin, revived in a hospital, the recipient of a miraculous arm-reattachment that should have him feeling good as new.

Except that it’s not his arm: it’s one that came off a diabolical Nazi Colonel.

Martin gains zombie superpowers (obviously) and triggers a giant zombie-on-zombie war for the survival of humanity, but also for our amusement, mostly.

From what we can see above, this will not be a tasteful film. Once the innocent moms with strollers get blasted with a Nazi tank shell, it seems pretty clear Red vs Dead is where subtlety goes to die screaming.

But in a Nazi zombie movie, that’s probably a good thing.
