The third installment of the Iron Man franchise from Marvel Entertainment is currently being filmed in Wilmington North Carolina. The film which is posed to be a summer blockbuster in 2013 is already creating quite a stir. Many are wondering who the primary antagonist of the film is and what particular storyline it will follow.
It was reported that Ben Kingsley had signed on to play the villain in the movie; there has been much speculation that he will be bring the role of Iron Man’s arch nemesis Mandarin to the big screen. Director Shane Black refuted that he would be playing Mandarin. However there is speculation that Guy Pearce is the main bad guy and he is portraying Aldrich Killian– the co-creator of a nanotechnology drug manufactured by the U.S Military in an attempt to recreate the Super soldier serum that birthed Captain America. The serum causes a mutation that gives the subject super human abilities.
And still even with those two potential characters looming there are pictures from the set that would just there is another minor villain or two who may make appearances in the film. “Coldblood” a cyborg who was formerly Lt. Col Eric Savin (played by James Badge Dale) is also rumored to be a part of the project as well. Sounds as though Tony Stark will have his hand full in this go round of super hero action. Of course true to Hollywood hush hush fashion producers and director aren’t saying much about the plot of the project by many say it will have elements of the Iron Man:Extremist story. And then it gets strange when you see the picture of the Iron Patriot armor which was first worn by Norman Osbourne in the Dark Avengers comic….so it looks as though well will have to wait until May 3, 2013 to see what right and what’s wrong.
