Mad Max: Fury Road Comic-Con Trailer is a Work of Car Crash Beauty

Normally, when footage is screened at Comic-Con, those doing the screening (you know, movie studios) squirrel that footage away forever. Or burn it, maybe. A good portion of the stuff they show never makes to the outside world. Remember the Warcraft preview that was shown last year? Nothing. Probably the same for this year’s Warcraft material, and also that Godzilla 2 teaser.

But The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 managed to do so already, and now Mad Max: Fury Road has done the same.

It’s a good day to be someone who didn’t go to Comic-Con.

Mad Max VillainThe trailer for Fury Road was one of the biggest hits of the Con, especially considering Marvel didn’t really wow too many people.

And it should wow people, because holy crap this trailer looks terrific. It’s essentially three minutes of solid car collisions, but with all kinds of kooky post-apocalyptic tech and freaky mutants. Nothing we could object to there.

Also, the villain, Immortan Joe, looks all kinds of freaky. You can see him above, but what you can’t see is any explanation for what “immortan” means.
