NBC Greenlights “Believe” from JJ Abrams & Cuaron

NBC has greenlit a new show “Believe” which Star Trek director J.J. Abrams and “Children of Men” director Alfonso Cuarón will executive produce together. The show is set to be a cross of science fiction and mystery which seems to be a great fit for the two producers at the helm.

The story deals with the unlikely relationship between a girl in possession of a power — which will come into their own in seven years — and the man who is sprung from prison to protect her from those trying to hunt her down. Whether they will be government forces or those from another world or dimension is yet to be unveiled. As of right now this shows seems to have strong potential because of the creative forces behind it.

Alfonso Cuarón co-wrote the pilot with Mark Friedman and  he is attached to direct. Friedman and Bryan Burk will also onboard as executive producers on the series.
