Wait, what? Is it true that one of the best teenage morning shows is returning? Is “Saved By the Bell” really coming back to television or is this some kind of joke? Nope, it is all true but not in the way die hard fans would necessarily like. The show, still in reruns that launched the careers of Tiffani Thiessen, Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Dustin Diamond is being made in to a TV movie.
Here’s what we know so far: it will be a Lifetime original movie reportedly based on Diamond’s book “Behind the Bell” which was actually fabricated. So now those at Lifetime are saying that the film “The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story” was actually written after many interviews and such with cast and crew. The movie will air September 1st and the cool thing is that the show’s original casting director, Robin Lippin hand-picked the six actors to portray the iconic characters. Will you be watching?
