Stephen A. Smith under fire for apparent use of racial slur on ESPN

We all know and love Stephen A with his high pitch voice and his hatred for Skip Bayless. But apparently he crossed the line the other day on ESPN.

Smith gets strangely feisty about the thought of Kobe Bryant missing a game with a foot injury, and drops a “[n-word] please” shot. Or so it seems.

Did he? Didn’t he? Smith sure doesn’t believe he did anything wrong. Listen in and you be the judge?

Stephen A. has denied the allegations, but gives no explanation for what he might have said. ESPN has said there will be no discipline for Smith. The network did bleep out the offending word, whatever it may have been, in a re-airing of the show on Thursday.

This is what he said about the report:

I’m from NYC also and I speak fast as well, but to claim that we misheard what he said is so fake. As a person who uses the term from time to time, there is no way you can try to cover that one up. On the flip side it made me like him even more. I Just wished he would have man’d up and apologized for saying it. But lets be fair here ESPN has suspended people or fired them for less. So he was covering his ass and if your in the working world we all have to do that from time to time. So Stephen A. if you want to continue to deny what you said then I only have two words for you: NIGGA PLEASE!
