Bucs Trade Winslow for a 7th round draft pick and Sign Dallas Clark right after!

The Tampa bay bucs traded Tight End Kellen Winslow to seattle for a draft pick monday night and then signed Dallas Clark to Replace him. When asked what happened between him and Coach Schiano Winslow said:

“He was kind of upset that I wasn’t there working out with the team in the offseason and for the first week of OTAs,” Winslow said during the interview with SiriusXM.”But I’ve been there the last three years and I’ve had a successful career so far,” he added. “You don’t just get rid of one of your best players because of that. … I don’t have nothing bad to say about coach Schiano. It was just a disagreement on why I’m not there yet.”

And what Kellen does not understand is that is the problem. It’s an unwritten rule in the NFL. If a new coach gets hired in the off season, unless told otherwise you show up to the first OTA’s. This is the first time the Coach has an oppurtunity to see if you fit his scheme.  Coaches like Greg Schiano  and Jim Harbaugh only want players who want to be apart of something great. No ego’s, no self promotion and espically no attitude. Winslow has always had trouble with all 3. He is remembered at Miami not for catching passes but for his ill placed “soldier” reference following a game at the U. In a age where Drew Brees can’t get a long term deal,  Peyton Manning gets cut by the Colts and a playoff winning QB gets traded (Tebow). Why would any team want to put up with his antics.
