Lionsgate/Summit are planning to condense their joint film slate to 14-15 films annually. Before the two companies joined forces Summit would release about 8 or 9 films per year. And Lionsgate would release 12-14 films per year. And now it they have agreed to cut it dow to a total of only 14-15 each year.
When they came together it caused a 20 film backlog on movies that need to be released.
Lionsgate aims to continue focusing on its established strengths in young adult franchises, horror, action and comedy.
