The NBA Summer Leagues are looked at as a place for rookies to get familiar with the NBA speed of the game and for veterans and journeyman to make one last impression on a team before training camp begins in September. Often these games become almost unwatchable and the announcers have to fill in for the entertainment that is severely lacking.
Since Miami was winning a summer league came convincingly against the New Jersey Nets, former Net Kendall Gill decided to reflect on his favorite Michael Jordan story, since there were an excess of players wearing them on the court.
Jimmy Jackson, a teammate of Gill decided to challenge Jordan since he was getting the better of him during a game. He proceeded to tug at Superman’s cape until Jordan had the ultimate comeback line, which he said “You sure talk a lot to have my shoes on.” Jackson flabbergasted remained silent for the rest of the game.
