Cultural Icon Tom Cruise keeps bring the heat when it comes to the movie theater. Cruise always a huge draw at the box office seems to always have the best projects and excellent timing. He returns to the big screen once again with another Sci-Fi action film that looks very intriguing and this once is titled simply “Oblivion”.
When a veteran solider is court marshaled and sent away to a distant planet to eliminate the remains of an “alien race” the arrival of an unexpected traveler causes him to question the true purpose of his mission and what he even knows about this planet.
I must say based on the trailer alone I am excited to see this film and I am eager to see how this story unfolds and what direction it will take. One big surprise that caught me off guard was seeing Morgan Freeman in the futuristic “Mad Max” type leader of the survivors role. Oblivion marks Tom Cruise’s return to sci-fi where he has made such classics as Minority Report and War Of The Worlds. The movie is currently in post- production and set to hit theaters in April of 2013.
