X-Men First Class: 2…???

It has been reported that Fox, who owns the film rights to the X-Men franchise recently filed paper work with the Motion Picture Association of America Title Registration Bureau.

The title that was registered is “Days of Future Past”. Now if you are a huge X-Men fan like myself then you are aware that this storyline from the comics and the 90’s cartoon focuses on an alternate future where Senator Robert Kelly is assassinated by The Brotherhood Of Mutants which causes an all out extermination campaign by the United States government. Eventually the robotic Sentinels end up with control over the entire country and mutants are forced to live in what seem to be very close to concentration camps. In this particular X-Men adventure the indestructible sentinel Nimrod is introduced. It will be interesting to see if he is included in this film version should this be the story that the studio is running with for the sequel. The storyline is super charged with excitement and action and has TONS of potential to be a hit. There is no word on whether or not X-Men First Class director Matthew Vaughn will be returning for the 2nd installment.
