The real-life political tension between Syria and Israel has led to filming on the third season of Showtime’s “Homeland” to change location. The Showtime Network and the show’s producer’s decide to move the production.
Parts of the third season were due to be filmed around Tel Aviv next month, familiar territory for the crew who shot several scenes from the first two seasons on location in Israel. The growing conflict between the US and Syria is causing things to become too unstable.
Now though, the shoot has been deemed too risky because of fears of Syrian retaliation over potential US military action As a result, these scenes will now be shot on location in Morocco. Actors Claire Danes and Damian Lewis will be on hand for the shoot.
The new season kicks off on Sunday September 29th on Showtime.
