Well, it turns out that Fox has decided to go with the fans on this one: Deadpool is officially on. Don’t break out your celebratory sparklers and vuvuzelas just yet, though- the Merc with a Mouth might become the Merc with a Movie, but that movie…
Might be PG-13.

The news comes by way of Schmoes Know, meaning it’s not official, but it very well could be. Here’s the Deadpool-might-be-PG-13 quote:
“I heard from the director that they finally figured out the script and it was right before this was announced … that they figured out, and you guys are all gonna hate this, they figured out how to make it PG-13 and therefore not lose its soul – that’s a quote – of the script so that they can make it.”

And hey, maybe Tim Miller (who’ll be directing Deadpool) really did figure out a way to make a Deadpool movie that doesn’t contain violent limb removal, but still has its gory old Deadpool soul. It doesn’t sound possible. But it might be.
Or, it might be the sacrifice Miller had to make in order to get Deadpool off the ground.
Hold your breath until this one gets confirmed, but either way- we’re getting a Deadpool movie. This is a cause for celebration.
