Emperor Cole Presents… Dvd’s You Should See…The Grey

Recently I had the chance to sit down and watch the film “The Grey” starring Liam Neeson and directed by Joe Carnahan. Let me tell you, if you haven’t heard of this movie and don’t know what it is about– then pick it up immediately! You will be pleasantly surprised and quite thrilled. It is a very enjoyable film that will have you on the edge of your seat!

Liam Neeson plays a skilled huntsman who is hired by an oil rig company to clear out all of the dangerous wolves that are in the general area of where the company has jobs going on. When an airplane flight filled with oil workers crashes he finds himself along with a handful of survivors trying to beat the elements and continue living– the only problem is if the plane crash didn’t kill you…the angry pack of Grey Wolves that is stalking  you is very likely too. The group attempts to move away from where the wolf pack is at only to find out that the pack is out to kill them and systematically waiting for opportunities.

The pack depicted in this film is the most vicious that I’ve ever seen in a film that didn’t turn into human being at some point or another. I found myself genuinely afraid for the group of crash survivors and this menacing feeling as if a wolf could jump out at any moment was over me even as I sat on my couch. GREAT JOB by the film’s director and actors. It made me wonder if the lucky  people were the ones who died on impact when the plane hit the ground at 400 miles per hour because  ain’t nothing nice about waiting to be ripped to pieces by several large wolves.  The most shocking moment in the film for me was the part where they are sitting around the camp fire sharing stories and trying to stay warm…and then a wolf just jumps on one of the men and starts trying to have him for dinner right in front of his crew!

For anyone who plans on taking a trip to Alaskan wilderness for any particular reason– I implore you to watch this movie first because you just may cancel your plans and decide to visit Las Vegas instead! LOL… The Grey is available to rent at Red Box and all major retailers for purchase.
