It seems like every mention of Floyd “Money” Mayweather nowadays is attached to a negative statement. I was once a huge fan of Floyd since the days of “Pretty Boy” but once he changed his name to “Money” he has started to act like most people that have more money than they know what to do with and that’s a colossal asshole. I have a new nickname for Mr. Mayweather, and it’s Floyd “Avoid” Mayweather.
The first reason I call him “Avoid” is because, that’s what he’s been doing to fighters that may give him a serious run for his money (pun intended). Any fight fan will tell you that the mega fight everybody wants to see is Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao but Floyd finds reason after reason not to fight him. First it was because Manny wouldn’t agree to a random blood test, then it was Manny wanted too much of the purse, and now it’s because Manny got knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez.
In my opinion all those reasons are bogus because Manny never failed a drug test, and although Floyd may be a bigger draw, he could have made the money work if he wanted too. The last reason is invalid because, Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao should have happened way before a 4th fight between Marquez –Pacquiao. I have come to grips with the fact that Mayweather V. Pacquiao will never materialize, but now it seems that Mayweather may be ducking (“Avoiding”) another fighter, this time a young up and coming beast by the name of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, yes, that “Canelo” that gave a beating to the over the hill Shane Mosely.
It has been reported by yahoo sports that “Canelo” would agree to fight on the under card of the May 4th bout between Floyd Mayweather and Robert Guerrero, if he would sign a deal guaranteeing a fight between himself and Mayweather on September 14th. Needless to say we won’t be seeing Canelo at the Mayweather fight unless he decides to pay for a ticket. Floyd talks a good game and usually he backs it up, but I guess that’s easy to do when you only fight people you know without a shadow of a doubt you can beat. This leads me to my next meaning in the “Avoid” nickname.
It’s time for women to start avoiding Floyd like he does great boxers. Most of the world has heard about the domestic dispute between Floyd and his Ex that sent Floyd to jail for 90 days. However, I guess that was not enough to teach him to stop antagonizing and harassing women. A couple of weeks ago Floyd was heard talking smack to a woman that is the wife and manager of a boxer by the name of Cornelius “K9” Bundrage.
Bundrage was fighting one of Floyd’s fighters by the name of Ishe Smith, and apparently Shawanna Bundrage and Floyd were talking smack to one another. I don’t mind trash talk between two people on different sides of a sporting event, but when you start to invade someone’s space and especially a female, it goes beyond trash talking and enters the realm of disrespect. In the picture below you will see what looks like Floyd trying to grind on Mrs. Bundrage, this goes way beyond trash talk. I’m not surprised “K9” lost the fight; he probably had one eye on Ishe Smith and another eye on his wife.
I wish Floyd would concentrate on beating all comers, instead of beating and antagonizing low level talent and women. Until he does that I will continue to call him Floyd “Avoid” Mayweather!
