Hip Hop Fashion is it Progressing or Regressing?

What’s the word world? It’s you dude Old Phantom and thank you for checking back in to the Hip Hop blog portion of Mindbenderent.com. Now if a lot of you are like me you grew up in the Platinum era of Hip-Hop which to me spans from ’94-‘06ish (you may have a different time line) but it’s in the same ball park. Where men dressed like men and we still wore baggy jeans, shirts that was loose and hoodies. 

1982               Present    …. This to me has to be the worst of all the repeat fads right now….Looking over the picture even in the 80’s their pants were not half as tight!! Are you kidding me?! This is one fad Women most of all can put a stop to! I have to ask what attracts ya’ll to a “man” in brightly colored jean spandex? I mean seriously are you looking for someone to share wardrobe with? Please…Please tell these dudes to stop this because remember the person who made this hot again also does this…..  If this is your idea of hip-hop (kill ya self)!! So ladies stop sharing your clothes with your “man” it’s not a good look.

Moving on let’s take a quick look at the infamous Red leather suit. We have seen people trying to bring back different styles but none has caught my eye more than the “Delirious” outfit worn by Kanye West, I guess the formula for this result was

Eddie Murphy    + Slick Rick  = Kanye west

As the old saying goes “there is nothing new under the sun” and this even applies to the “Louie Vuitton Don” who is all about fashion. However sun jumped out the window with the Eddie Murphy suit C’mon man!! SMH. This hip-hop fashion blunder was before he and Kim got together so hopefully Shorty can keep some of his tom foolery under wraps and never allows him to leave the house like that again!
So apparently we have hit the point of Hip-hop fashion regression in my opinion, and most of it is a horrible look.
From this (the best rapper alive)  To this Lil tunchie (the self proclaimed best rapper alive)  
From Pac (arguably the best ever)   to the new “tupac without the nose ring”  (stop it bruh you 35yrs old) you were around when Pac was and you never saw him wear that type of style!
From Biggie (arguably the best ever)  to Rozay (arguably the hottest rapper out right now)
We have seen a major change or regression in the styles our hip-hop superstars wear.  So break out your DMC glasses , your snap hats and Jean vests , stone was jeans, oh and apparently Molly ( Molecule pure MDMA) is the new crack… brace yourself world the 80’s is back!!
