On Thursday December 6th,Mindbender Entertainment had the pleasure of watching Pierre Parlé preform at Ooba Lounge in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The house was pack with a lively audience and the performances were off the hook. Here is my take on the festivities and some news on some up and coming artist.
I have had the pleasure of seeing Pierre preform solo once before, however this time was slightly different. Showcasing four original songs titled “This Life on a Canvas”, “Ghetto”, “Best Thing Yet” and “Wish You were Here” i was interested to hear the new material he had come up with from his last show. While Pierre Parlé was the main focus of the performance, the assistance of 4 other artist. Whitestone’s own DJ 718 provided the beats for Pierre Parlés music, and thy always make a good team.
My favorite portion of the night was the was the addition of female artist Amerika Deluna. This young lady’s voice was amazing and truly added to the performance. Cajonist Daniel Santander also added a very unique and catchy sound. To be totally honest I had no idea what a Cajonist was until i saw and heard it in person and was impressed how such a simple instrument could add so much to a song.
The last song “Wish You were Here” included only the sound of an acoustic guitar. Its rare to combine an acoustic sound with hip hop music but it this case it was great. Guitarist Stephen Rodriguez also had a great voice while singing the chorus to accompany his guitar skills.
All in all it was a great performance. We want to thank Pierre Parlé for the exclusive invite and hope that he updates us with any new shows and or material.
