Production has began on the 3rd season of the acclaimed AMC television series The Walking Dead and the series is preparing to take a wild turn as the gang is about to encounter the character The Governor.

David Morrissey will be reprising the role of The Governor as the group comes into contact with a small settlement of Zombie Apocalypse survivors in Woodbury. He is the vicious leader of the Woodbury group and also the most formidable villain from the comic book series. Producers of the show were questioned as to whether or not they would tone down the character and his antics for network television and the response was “No”. The creator of the show Robert Kirkman says that The Governor will be a very important character in the season 3 storyline and that he will be someone that the audience loves to hate but are very entertained by. He went on record to say that they will not be watering The Governor down at all.
