Coming Out

Ok people this may be my final article on Mindbender…this may be the one that gets me fired but I don’t care.  If I wrote for CNN, USA Today, MSNBC or Fox I wouldn’t be able to get this one onto the web, so for that I’m at least thankful that I’ll be able to say what I need to say before they fire me.

Jason Collins

Jason Collins is a faggot.  NBA player, Jason Collins, announced yesterday that he was gay.  He is the first active, male athlete from one of the major four sports(football, basketball, baseball, hockey) to come out as gay.  And the response to his coming out has been overwhelmingly positive.  The POTUS called him to congratulate him, former POTUS, Bill Clinton has called it “an important moment  for professional sports and in the history of the LGBT community.”  Athletes from all sports, Kobe Bryant, The Rock,  have praised his bravery for coming out.  Collins came out in an article in Sports Illustrated http://goo.gl/nONRY and his first words are “I’m a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay.”

 Jason Collins 2

Jason Collins and his twin brother Jarron graduated from Stanford University in 2001, where they were on campus with Chelsea Clinton.  Jason has played for 8 different teams during his NBA career and has averaged 3.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.  We aren’t talking Lebron or Dwight Howard numbers. He is a career journeyman who plays good defense and is listed as 7’0.  Hence, the reason he keeps getting signed to teams.

 Mike Wallace

This is the thing and I’m prepared to be called homophobic, old fashioned or whatever you want to call me…this gay thing is completely and totally out of control!  Mike Wallace, a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins said it best on his Twitter account yesterday “All these beautiful women in the world and guys wanna mess with other guys SMH,” then he tweeted “I’m not bashing anybody don’t have anything against anyone I just don’t understand it” and finally “Never said anything was right or wrong I just said I don’t understand!! Deeply sorry for anyone that I offended”.  I just did a google search on Mike Williams Jason Collins http://goo.gl/4MAor and the headlines are out of control…TMZ:…NFLer sends out homophobic tweet…Hollywood Life…NFL star slams gay people…Sun Sentinal…Jason Collins vs the voice of locker room ignorance…What The Fuck?!

The Miami Dolphins released a statement: Mike Wallace has apologized for his comments, and we have addressed the matter with him. Mike’s comments do not reflect the views of the Miami Dolphins. We believe in a culture of inclusiveness and respect, and any statements to the contrary are in no way acceptable to our organization. We will address the entire team about our policy of inclusion and make sure they all understand the importance of respecting individual choices.

There it is.  I couldn’t really put my finger on it.  Now I know what my real issue is.  Nobody is allowed to say they don’t agree with something without being labeled.  If I say something about race, I’m pulling the race card.  If I say something about not agreeing with homosexuality, I’m homophobic. Merriam-Webster defines homophobia as: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals http://goo.gl/Wh5bx.  I’m not irrationally afraid of anything and my aversion isn’t irrational.  I don’t agree with 2 men fucking.  It’s not natural.  You can’t procreate that way.  None of the major religious books allow for it.  But as soon as anyone says anything against homosexuality or gay marriage you’re automatically labeled as a homophobe.  That ain’t right.  If I don’t want a fagot around me, that’s my right.  It doesn’t make me homophobic, it means that I have morals and principles that I’m standing on and that are unwavering.  In the words of the great poet Eminem: “I’m not homophobic, you’re heterophobic”

Where fiction...

Where fiction…

Fashion Queens

…is stranger than reality!

Media is doing everything in it’s power to make sure homosexuality is seen and heard loud and clear.  From ABC’s “Modern Family”, NBC’s “The New Normal”, to Showtime’s “House of Lies” and “Shameless” we are bombarded with gay characters (mostly males).  Reality shows “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Fashion Queens” on Bravo.  There seems to be more faggots on tv than black women.  It don’t make no damn sense!

I know a lot of you are cringing every time I say the word faggot…get over it!  Like I said in my blog “Objectionable Behavior” http://goo.gl/ZKD6q faggot is the new nigga.  I know people that say nigga or bitch at the drop of a hat but as soon as someone says faggot they get all upset.  If another person says “you can’t say that, that ain’t right” because I’ve said faggot or called someone a faggot or said someone was acting like a faggot, it’s going to be a problem.  You stop saying nigga, I’ll stop saying faggot. You stop saying bitch, I’ll stop saying faggot. You stop reciting the lyrics to “Bitches Love Me” or “Ocho Cinco” and I’ll stop saying faggot!

The way I see it, this was a power move by Jason Collins.  He’s a free agent this year, so right now he doesn’t have a team.  What he has done is pretty much guaranteed David Stern is on the phone with a handful of teams right now and ordering them to work it out so Collins get signed by someone.  Pretty ingenious if you ask me.  Think about it…gay player comes out and then doesn’t get a job the next year.  It’s a PR nightmare and the NBA doesn’t want to be the sports organization to blow this.  If he were a star like Lebron, ‘Melo, or KD it wouldn’t be hard for the NBA.  They would promote the hell out of either of them.  Jason Collins is a scrub.  A scrub who’s at the end of his career.  A scrub who has painted the NBA into a corner and pretty much made it impossible to NOT get signed for at least one more year.  Only in America.

Chris Broussard

NBA analyst Chris Broussard appeared on the ESPN show “Outside the Lines” today and said “Personally, I don’t agree with homosexuality. I think it’s a sin…as I think all sex outside of marriage is a sin.”  Let the games begin.

If I don’t get fired…Pt. 2 on Friday!
